“The Book of Righteousness” sets out to paint a crystal clear picture of what the life of a true follower of Jesus Christ should look like.

This is the third of a multi-volume series entitled “The Books of Christianity”. Volume III builds on the foundation of Volume II by spending time on the concept of Christian Righteousness. The book details aspects such as the proof of one’s Salvation, understanding our humanity, and dealing with sin in our lives.

These books are meant to immediately get down to business and as a result they are devoid of any fluff or page filler content. The information is highly condensed and concentrated into a small package so that it can be easily digested in one or two sittings. There is no need to flip through to the “good stuff ” as these volumes are designed to maximize the time to value ratio for your attention. Please enjoy a sample of Chapter 1 from the book:

Most Christians if asked, will tell you that they will go to Heaven when their life is over.  We learned from Volume I (The Book of Creation), that there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!  In Volume II (The Book of Salvation), we learned how to give our lives to Him so that we could be saved from certain destruction in Hell and live with Him forever for all eternity.  Some further things must be considered though, as there is most assuredly a crowd of people who think that they are followers of Jesus, but in reality, they are very far from Him.

Matthew 7:21-23 illustrates that this group is horribly confused as to how they could have spent their lives thinking they were serving Jesus only to be told in the end that He never knew them!  We also read in Matthew 25:41-46 that Jesus Christ Himself will dismiss this very same crowd from His presence into the fire of eternal punishment.  You see we have to much dive deeper into the topic of Salvation so that we will not be blinded into thinking that we are with Jesus when we are really only living for our ourselves and our own selfish ambitions.

Is Salvation then something that can be lost after it is initially obtained?  There are arguments both for and against the notion that a person’s Salvation can be lost, but I would like to offer an alternate perspective.  The Bible has its own viewpoint that when considered, nullifies the need for the previous question altogether.  From a purely Biblical perspective, to prove whether or not a person possesses Salvation there is a certain type of lifestyle that must be present in order to serve as proof that a person is truly saved.  As it is so eloquently stated in 1 Peter 1:15, “but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior”.

Jesus further brings that point home as He dismisses those from His presence that lived a lifestyle unworthy of Him defiled with uncaring selfishness.  He then provides a list of areas where they had shortcomings in their lives, proving through their own actions that they could not have possibly known Him and still behaved this way (Matthew 25:41-45).  Every offense He lists can be directly tied to a lack of loving compassion within the hearts of those being dismissed.  When asked what the most important commandments were, Jesus responded with loving God first and each other second.  He then went on to say that the entire Law and everything the Prophets spoke depended on those two commandments (Matthew 22:37-40).  As critically important as Jesus states that love is, it becomes an emphatic truth that one simply cannot belong to Christ and still lack love.
